In autumn 2022, four outstanding artists came together under the name Quartett am Ende der Zeit.
Their mission: to transcend boundaries, forge connections and create new worlds of sound.
What happens when these versatile talents come together?
An Austrian violinist with Japanese roots, who switches effortlessly between the violin, viola and the rare violoncello da spalla, bringing her ‘multi-stringed’ expertise to the table.
A world-renowned saxophonist who, with his virtuoso sounds and original compositions, masterfully commands the soprano to baritone range.
A cosmopolitan pianist who shines between classical and jazz with stylistic versatility and a subtle sense of sound, thrilling audiences with his virtuoso expressiveness.
A chamber musician with Hungarian roots who brings the tuba and the cimbasso to life, thereby breaking new ground in concert design.
The result is a unique programme that they themselves describe as ‘symphonic chamber jazz’. Here, original compositions merge with innovative arrangements of well-known works from classical and popular music. The repertoire spans a wide range, from J.S. Bach and Astor Piazzolla to Béla Bartók and Johann Pachelbel, right through to contemporary works by Etienne Crausaz and original compositions by the ensemble members.
With passion, curiosity and a shared musical spirit, the quartet bridges the gap between baroque and beatbox, between classical music and jazz improvisation. An experience brimming with emotion, joy of performance and artistic dedication, which you can experience up close.
Quartett am Ende der Zeit invites you to be part of a musical journey that transcends boundaries and heralds a new era.
